Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that contains numerous conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
